After graduation as Mechanical Engineering (MEng. hons.) at the University of Newcastle/Tyne, UK, Jens Beck worked as Engineer at Siemens Power Generation with the focus on pump service in nuclear power plants. After 2 years he changed to a position as research associate at the “Universität Stuttgart”, Germany, focusing on energy generation from solid fuels. After having finished his doctoral thesis Jens Beck started at AREVA GmbH in the section for primary components. Main topics were the thermo hydraulic design of steam generators as well as large heat exchangers and the life time assessment of these components. After two years Jens Beck headed the section and was technically responsible for the sections topics as well as for the personal management of the fourteen engineers of the primary components section. In January 2012 until December 2014 Jens Beck worked as representative engineer in Brazil where he was responsible for the interface to the customer as well as for the outage management of the service scope of AREVA. Since January 2015 Jens Beck is heading the section for engineering service projects.
