About Jens C. Pedersen
After graduating in electrical engineering, I was employed as a research assistant, working with microwave technology for extraction of oil from tar sand and satellite based radar, at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. I have been employed by Terma A/S since 1982, and served in several positions since then, internal as well as customer oriented. I pioneered the company’s activities in Radar Sensor Systems for VTS, Coastal Surveillance and Airport Surface Movement Radar applications.Over recent years, and based on my experience from Queens University, I also supported the invention of a novel reactor for fast decomposition of i.e. organic materials into bio oil and gas.I am also an experienced competition pilot, certified flight instructor and certified aircraft material inspector.--------The majority of my work has been within one of the world leading radar companies TERMA A/S, where I combined radar technology with operational and meteorological knowledge and has been the principal engineer in the definition of thouisands of radar systems for customers world-wide.TERMA A/S has a long and established experience delivering mission-critical solutions for the aerospace, defense, and security sector. This include a role as leading provider of naval command and control solutions for a wide range of applications, including combat management, surveillance, counterterrorism, interdiction, maritime picture compilation and Search & Rescue operationsTerma SCANTER Radar Systems Globally provides high performing Surveillance Radar Systems to professional markets within homeland security, defence and traffic control. Advanced Terma radar technology, enables detection of even small objects over large distances and in all weather conditions.Product Management defines new products based on market understanding, prepares requirement and product specifications, monitors the competitive situation and the markets and ensures sufficient product knowledge within the sales and project organization.Specialties: Command Control and sensor (Radar) Technology / Certified Aircraft Material Inspector / Glider Pilot and Instructor / Touring Glider Pilot, Tow Pilot and Instructor / Organic Fuel TechnologyFurthermore I represented TERMA AS in the IALA VTS committee since 1999.
