I am educated as B. Eng. Electrical Engineering (power engineer) from Aalborg University; Consistently rated among the top universities in the world.I started my career working 14 years in a electric distribution company with a variety of tasks including maintenance planning, grid planning, tender business and subsequent implementation related to IT solutions for automatic meter reading, SCADA / DMS, energy trading, settlement system, grid calculation, GIS, … Appreciating a high and consistent data quality of grid / asset data being foundational for data driven operation and grid optimizations I decided to focus on specifying requirements, implementing, and engaging the organization into prioritizing this field of work. The solutions created back then became de-facto standard in a number of Danish electric utility companies.After 14 years I moved to the other side of the table - took on a job as consultant in a privately owned company - delivering consultancy and solutions to the utilities and I quickly learned that my background came in handy. Also, I learned a lot from now having been on both sides of the table in the procurement process. My focus evolved into assisting utilities understand the opportunities, change strategies, and adapt ways of working. And in consequence thereof I was PO on our developing of solutions allowing the replacement of ArcFM as well for the development of our CIM Extractor.When taking on the role of Principal Business Process Consultant I learned an important lesson. Software vendors will often sing praises to their particular product and will typically know very little (if anything) about other software products – nor of business process support outside the reign of their own product.My background working with solutions optimizing business processes throughout the utility organization using the range of software products, proved a huge advantage when offering business process consultancy that crosses the borders of the single building blocks. Most recently I have taken on the role of Principal Product Owner taking lead on the transitional process moving Volue and our customers within the electric utility business towards a modular, SaaS solution portfolio; Expect much more on this in near future.Finally, I am Project Owner for the important projects at trendsetting utilities moving towards ArcGIS Utility Network based grid / asset repositories; This process and these utilities thus are tightly connected to the SaaS trend.I am open-minded and pride myself in communicating clearly – to high as to low.
