My research focus is on identifying novel therapeutic strategies for human diseases through the interaction between gut microbiota and our body. For example, my previous study demonstrated flagellins from motile gut bacteria are effective agents in increasing HDL-C and treating atherosclerosis in animals.Outside of work, I’m the Vice President of the Society of True Light, a NGO in Hong Kong that emphasizes the promotion of self-acceptance in LGBT+ individuals. Our work includes conducting research, providing public education, and organizing training workshops on LGBT+-affirmative approaches for mental health professionals.
