I am a passionate software architect and engineer. Several decades of designing and building increasingly complex software systems taught me to pay attention to structured and modular design; efficient, scalable and well-tested implementations; the need for logging, profiling and debugging tools; and the purpose of healthy and detailed documentation.My interests lie in the areas of whole system simulation, static & dynamic compilation and optimization and code execution, and low-level operating system internals of modern single and multi-core systems. Then up the software stack into compiled and managed languages and runtimes, as well as modern web backends and high-level programming languages.I founded Bookalope motivated by my passion for software, book design and typography. Bookalope is a cloud service that provides publishers with AI-assisted tools that analyze, structure and fix, and convert manuscripts and documents for accessible ebook and print production.In addition to the above, I help build software for e.g. Passport, Firebrand Technologies and Fondazione LIA, and I serve as an occasional technical advisor for MaxusAI and Business Kitz.
