My name is Jennifer Turner and I'm a Freelance Graphic Designer and Art Director from Vancouver, B.C. Since graduating from VCAD in 2014, I have worked in various design roles throughout the creative industry, shaping my skills and abilities as a designer while gaining invaluable knowledge and experiences. My background ranges from working in smaller boutique studios to an in-house brand agency, all while freelancing on the side, working with clients in various industries such as cosmetics, health and wellness, cannabis and more. My work includes branding, advertising, integrated marketing, print and digital production, creating various assets for different platforms and channels, working one-on-one with clients as well as collaborating in-house.Up until recently, I was working as an Art Director for one of my favourite brands, Lush Cosmetics, but unfortunately due to Covid, I lost my position. I’ve decided to make the jump into building a full-time freelancing career, applying all the knowledge I’ve learned along the way.I've always loved what I do, my passion for art and design started at a very young age. I still remember the Sailor Moon portraits I would whip-up throughout elementary school. When I got my first computer, those pencil crayon portraits became masterpieces in MS Paint. By the time high school rolled around, I often found myself illustrating and hand-lettering my way through lectures, creating beautiful cover pages for every subject while trying to focus on my teachers. I still remember spending hours in the magazine section at the grocery store while my parent's shopped, admiring all the beautiful photography and layout work. I always had to have the latest issue of Transworld Snowboarding.Inspired by Jessica Hische's quote, "The work you do while you procrastinate is probably the work you should be doing for the rest of your life"; I decided to enhance my design skills and registered at the Visual College of Art and Design, where I graduated with a diploma in Graphic Design.
