About Alto: Alto Pharmacy was founded in 2015 on the belief that pharmacies should be focused on the patient experience. As of 2024, Alto is a full-service pharmacy, operating in 12 cities across the US, that offers patients same-day prescription delivery, cost transparency, and pharmacist access. Alto is helping people lead healthier lives through easy, fair access to medicine.

Took a planned year off for personal exploration before starting a career exploration. Enjoyed the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest by Sprinter van. Traveled the world (Bahamas, USVI, Hawaii, South Africa, Japan, and more). Learned how to: avoid avalanches (AIARE 1); scuba dive multiple times a day (dive boat); navigate in the wilderness, backpack, and provide first aid (Mountaineers courses); and ski better (20+ days on the slopes). Read 50+ books. Attempted to train a puppy, made it to 75%. Volunteered at the Ballard Food Bank. Reconnected with friends and family in the US after living in Japan during the pandemic. Planned a wedding in six weeks. Filled up my cup before the next chapter.

Spent more than a decade at Amazon Legal building great legal teams focused on helping world-class business clients launch products and services (frequently in novel and regulated areas, like aviation and alcohol) that made customers' lives easier. My last role was based in Japan as Legal Director / Associate General Counsel for APAC/MENA customer fulfillment (warehouses and all aspects of Amazon’s e-commerce operations), transportation (first, middle, and last mile, along with reverse logistics/returns), and operations compliance (including Global Trade, Environmental, Health & Safety, Transportation Risk and Compliance, and Sustainability), managing team of nearly 20 lawyers and legal professionals, focused on India, Japan, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Australia. Other businesses supported over my 11+ years included Marketplace (third party sellers), Alexa Voice Services (third party Alexa integrations, including automotive), Prime Air - drones and airplanes, North American Operations and more. 📌 Fun Facts: 1️⃣ I joined Amazon in 2010 as one of 33,000 employees, and left in 2021 after the company reached 1.6 million.2️⃣ I was Amazon's first "Drone Lawyer" supporting Amazon Prime Air and building out the Amazon Aviation legal team. 3️⃣ I conducted hundreds of interviews for lawyers and legal professionals around the world as an Amazon Bar Raiser (essentially one of a select group of lead interviewers that were required for any hire decision).

Drafted, negotiated, and counseled internal and external clients on technology-related agreements. Worked with start-up companies to identify, protect, and commercialize IP rights. Conducted due diligence and advised public and private companies on IP-related issues in M&A.
