Jen envisioned a luxury day spa and wellness center as part of “empty nester and pre-retirement” life. In 2019, she and her husband acquired real estate in a high growth area of the greater Hilton Head, SC area. They developed a business strategy, intellectual property plan and custom designed an 11,000 square foot resort-inspired luxury day spa. Despite challenges from the pandemic, they opened for business in May of 2021 and have seen consistent growth year over year despite ongoing supply chain and labor market shortages. Jen leads the organization in developing new services, curating the retail boutique, applying six sigma strategies to processes and logistics, managing the marketing strategy and setting direction to the strategic plan of the organization with plans to expand into wellness and beauty while laying the groundwork for a licensing model of expansion.

She formed a joint venture with SBMC in 2011. In 2015, the firm was named one of the top 75 patent firms in the U.S. The firm represented clients such as Microsoft, Kroger, Kraft Foods, Scripps Networks Interactive, Duke Energy, other Fortune 500 companies, as well as emerging growth companies in the technology, media and entertainment, retail and consumer products industries. Her practice areas focused on intellectual property strategy, using patent analytics to forecast future trends, technology, global internet policy, and privacy law, as well as venture capital based financing. She served as the external General Counsel to emerging growth companies and led large technology transactions and intellectual property campaigns for Fortune 1000 companies. While she is no longer actively engaged in the firm, she maintains her license to practice law in Ohio.
