As the Commercial Director at GANNI, my area of responsibility covered all areas of the distribution. By implementing efficient business intelligence, and applying a sustainable company strategy, my overall target was to create profitable, international growth.

With 850 shops across 38 markets, my responsibility was to build a team, and deliver best practice merchandising through quantitative- and qualitative data.

As the international retail/ ecommerce merchandise manager, for IC Companys, the areas of responsibility could roughly be split into three categories: Product development, Planning/Buying and Merchandise operations.Product development o Gather product inputs from markets and translate these into workable outputs. o Pass on retail inputs to product management on collection structure and flow.o Attend all product development meetings from fabric meetings to the final collection.Planning and Buyingo Secure healthy cash flow and brand values through a correct merchandising plan. o Gather product inputs from markets and translate these into workable outputs. o Analyze store- and product performance and generate workable output.o Create merchandising plan based on retail theory and empirical results (Merchandise flow, category split etc.)o Make selection from collection for all stores, based on individual merchandise plans.o Present selection to selected ambassador’s pr. market to ensure brand understanding and fulfillment of commercial potential. Through a Nordic subsidiary in Copenhagen, I planned and executed the retail buying.

Through my years in the Diesel Store in Copenhagen I obtained a great deal of knowledge on many aspects of modern retailing, especially in the areas of customer service, product knowledge and managerial responsibility. I advanced from Licens responsible to Denim responsible which significantly increased my area of responsibility. At the same time I was made Supervisor and therefore given daily operational responsibilities. After a period of time I was given the responsibility of Assistant store manager. Affectively I shared the responsibility of 20 employees and a 400 m2 store with the Store manager.Summarized, I possessed the positions below, through my years in the Diesel Store.- Licens responsible.- Denim responsible.- Supervisor.- Assistant store manager.
