• During my Watson year, I will journey through South Africa, Guatemala, Brazil, Australia, & Jamaica exploring how poetry and arts in general can empower hypercriminalized youths and provide a voice to the experiences of marginalized communities. I will also visit and volunteer within prisons, analyze the roots of crime and incarceration through a global perspective, and meet with scholars, administrators, and community members to further my research.
