I am Jerad Fischer, a sophomore at Simpson College. I am a double major in health and exercise science and business management. I am also a captain on the football team and play quarterback. Also I am an undergraduate assistant with the Sports Performance Department at Simpson College, where I help coach and program for multiple athletic teams. I have minors in entrepreneurship and coaching. I have gained workforce experience in these fields over the past couple of years as I spent time as a coaching intern and eventually coaching assistant at DSM Performance, a small business that focuses on sport specific training for youth athletes. While there I not only coached the youth athletes, but also spent time learning about the business side of the company. That experience along with my time as an UGA at Simpson College, has shown me that I have a passion for coaching and working with athletes. I have seen myself grow skills in public speaking, responsibility, networking, and interpersonal skills. Those along with my long history of sports, having been playing baseball and football since I was very young, have allowed me to develop as a leader and understand the importance of teamwork and hard work. My future goals are to open and operate my own gym, that prioritizes the needs of both youth and adult athletes. I believe coaches should prioritize building strong connections with athletes and hope for that to be a foundational pillar at my gym!
