As the Data and Technology Coach at Muskegon Public Schools, I have a wide range of roles. Professional Development for staff is one of the favorite roles I hold. I deliver professional development in educational technology throughout the school year in various ways including but not limited to face to face training (1:1 or small groups), office hours, scheduled professional development days, and flipped PD as well. I help with the management of Title IIA funding as well as educational technology purchases. I have given professional development in Google Apps for Education, Twitter, Web 2.0 tools, data driven decision making, PowerTeacher, PowerSchool, as well as many others. Parents have been a group that I also work with from time to time providing training and support in our district's educational systems. Another role I have is helping teachers and administrators with data and how to generate, gather, and understand data. I work with many forms of school and district wide data from everything to mobility and attendance rates to assessment results. Two main sources of data that I work with and have expertise with is our local data warehouse (IGOR) as well as our student information system (PowerSchool). I have been also in a supervisory position as it pertains to elementary technology teachers, media specialists, library paraprofessionals, and district technology initiatives. I led our district's creation of a technology curriculum a few years ago and this year have served on a county-wide K-12 educational technology curriculum integrating the Common Core.

In charge of technology curriculum, overseeing elementary technology teachers, and leading professional development in technology integration in the PreK-12 setting.

As the principal of Bluffton Elementary School, a small K-5 school, I led 8 teachers and approximately 200 students. During this time, we were consistently the highest achieving urban school in Muskegon County and our state scores matched and were better than many schools in a more suburban setting. I also held other school & district wide responsibilities which included being the school's reading specialist, the district's instructional technology leader, and overseeing a rather large district level library grant.

Coached JV Boys Basketball at Mona Shores High School and Varsity Girls Basketball at Fruitport High School. Instituted a girls "Jr. League" basketball program at Fruitport which grew from 75 girls in the first year to over 150 in a few short years. The Jr. League is still in existence today and helps support a program that consistently is winning games at the varsity level.
