This effort included constructing the display visualizations, coding supporting state machines to drive the visualizations, implementing fault handling and reporting, creation of audio alerts, graphics creation, and adding support for multiple language translations. After the product launch, I further supported the product line by creating specific software releases for our service team, addressing follow-up issues for the display, and maintaining code and supporting software releases for the display.Aside from code running on the display, I updated features and refactored code for standards compliance on the embedded code running on the controllers in the truck. Updated features for the controller code include safety limit settings and ethernet/UDP communication. Code for all truck lines needed to be reviewed for MISRA-C compliance, and I supported these efforts both by updating code and through code reviews.As a senior engineer, I supported the Software Team through tool selection and process development. Observing a lack of code reviews, an issue tracking mechanism, and a checker for standards compliance, I evaluated candidates for and recommended software tools to alleviate all of these needs. After recommending JIRA for use as the company wide issue management system, I supported process development by creating the workflow model for the Software Team and implementing workflow structure as a JIRA admin for the company.I additionally had the opportunity to mentor an intern for the Software Team. This mentorship included periodic meetings for both knowledge transfer and status reporting, regular guidance with assigned tasks, and support for the end of term intern presentation and reception. Daily tasks involve test procedure execution and improvement, coordination, and communication. Manual and automated tests are run as prioritized, also regular meetings are coordinated distributing the status of test efforts, results, and resource availability. It is also vital to maintain and ensure hardware and software are kept current for the airframes and features under test. Testing for inter-system functionality and compliance is common for all airframe components (AHRS, ADC, etc). Collaboration with various groups within the company (AFCS, Tech Pubs, Certification, etc) is also routine. Significant effort was spent on updating automated FDR test scripts and their test environment for specific airframes. I also provided management of an inter-disciplinary effort to update a large library of FDR tests and regression tests.I personally oversaw a plethora of collaboration meetings between the test group and Garmin customers. These interactions resulted in procuring necessary documents, information, requirements, as well as bolstering a positive repertoire. Regular reviews and meetings are conducted for support.Specific testing environments and simulation were developed for Runway Overrun, Coupled Go Around, and AutoThrottle.Additional achievements are: Not missing a delivery for any airframe, I was able to participate in Garmin Outreach via tours and intern development, and I also won the 2017 Systems/Programs Chili Cook Off. My projects include aircraft communication and navigation equipment, code generators for graphical applications, railway systems, spacecraft/satellite systems, qualification test development for Agricultural Engineering Foundation standards, and the incorporation of National Instruments products. These projects provide testing experience that result in the creation, development and maintenance of tool validations, and development of requirements based tests. I am also responsible for developing formal validation test procedures, embedded software and firmware, organizing test data reports, implementing configuration management tools, using defect tracking tools, as well as facilitating test installation, execution, and validation procedures.These projects are held to regulatory standards including: RTCA DO-178, DO-254, ISO 26262, ISO 11783, IEC 61508 and IEC 62304. ISO 9001 QMS training was completed, and internal quality management policies and procedures were upheld.
