As owner and principle developer, I helped companies solve many of the unique business challenges they faced by providing end to end software solutions, addressing their growing need for business process automation and information management.My role required extreme versatility and a high level of skill in all areas of development, including front and back end web development, business process automation and database design and administration.My primary focus was centered around the design and development of workflow automation software, and I have developed a significant number of core best practices and design patterns to go along with this.

Worked on various projects for our primary client, CAbi, a direct marketing clothing company with revenue of about $250M. I helped them develop an internal call service application, various workflow processes, software development best practices, build systems and an overall direction for future application development.Contributed to the design and architecture of their future ERP system, including modules to handle purchasing, invoicing, payments, shipments, customer management, security and other business specific requirements.

Launched in September 2005, American Idol Underground was an online music contest based on the popular TV show. It targeted independent artists and bands for entry into various musical competitions and encouraged them to participate in social activities (stats, messaging, friends, fans, etc.)I joined the team a few months into development and helped them build the product out into its final state. A lot of the work involved back end data processing, visual design and user interactivity. Users could listen to tracks, upload songs and enter various competitions to win prizes. I was also involved in the design and development of a ratings engine which gathered ratings from users and selected winners for contests.I had many responsibilities during this time including programming, design, build management, production deployments, branching/merging, versioning and DBA activities.

Performed hands-on development and project management for multiple large IT initiatives, including Herbalife's eCommerce website, a core legacy data replication service, and other mission critical applications.Led project teams of up to 10 developers and designed the framework and implementation of the team development environment.Designed and implemented a custom legacy data replication system, which served as the primary data source for most of Herbalife's front end web properties. Successfully addressed issues such as reliability, scalability, performance and disaster recovery.
