My current research efforts can be categorized into: commercial broiler housing systems, environmental control for animal housing, instrumentation and sampling methods, water and energy conservation in agriculture, and animal instrumentation and tracking.

Worked in the Environmental Management Research Program under Tami Brown-Brandl. Duties included the construction of an electronic feed-bunk monitoring system for feedlot cattle, animal behavioral monitoring and instrument calibration and testing. Independent work included the design, development, and construction of a GPS backpack to track cattle locomotion. The system required extended battery life and many iterations of pack design to fit and remain on animal during movement.

Performed various labor roles in the Agricultural Engineering Cotton Gin Test Laboratory under the direction of Wayne LePori. Participated in the ginning of test plot cotton samples for various research projects. Became intimately familiar with the small-scale gin set and its operation.

I participated in the CNH engineering internship program and was stationed in the Cotton Harvesting Equipment group under the direction of Mike Horejsi. I participated in a variety of duties with the design and test engineering groups. I got to experience efforts on the 6-row cotton picker before its release.
