I love problem solving and learning new skills.I was the kid that loved trying to fix broken toys (or taking working ones apart). This love of problem solving carried through to adulthood, studying engineering and taking “hands-on" jobs that allowed me to tinker. I particularly like the hard problems; they’re the ones you learn something from.I started my IT career as a technology coach at a call center, helping to develop the skills of less technically adapted coworkers. This led to several years working on networks in the cable industry, a job that taught me many soft skills. Most importantly, I learned that predicting and preventing problems is often the best way help your customers and coworkers.I apply these lessons to my current work approach:• Be patient and understanding• People get frustrated, you should smile• Proactive maintenance and optimization are the best way to help I am excited to see what lessons, technical and otherwise, that I will learn in the future.
