Sheet Metal Trade Constructability Leads are professionals that have a large working knowledge of the BIM/VDC process and their respective trade discipline and use their knowledge to help facilitate project execution via the detailers that they are responsible for. TCL’s work hand in hand with their detailers to help facilitate a lean workflow, overall positive project experience that concludes in a successful execution. Mentor and gather feedback from their detailers to continually review and enhance workflow, software, and overall systems set in place. Continually contribute to projects through workflow execution to help further a project along as well as to keep their selves knowledgeable in the processes/software that is leveraged.

Responsible for reviewing contracts provided for scope of work in regard to creating, maintaining and coordinating BIM/CAD drawings. Also responsible for supporting the fabrication shop, field projects and project manager in regard to projects in the immediate region by facilitating field information into fabrication information and providing installation information as field support.

A key member of a project design team that is responsible for the constructability of the project. Implements the Division Constructability Standards on assigned projects with adjustments to meet the specific project goals. Provides timely input and feedback to the design team and oversees the transition of the model to the final stages of trade signoff and spooling. Ensures the design model achieves the needs of the shop and field in a timely manner. Serves as the single point of contact for the “build” resources during the design phase of the project.

The construction industry has made long strides through the advancement of technologies within the industry. One of those technologies is Building Information Modeling/Virtual Design and Construction (Bim/VDC). The ability to construct a project virtually before the actual ground has been broken has advanced the way that the construction industry performance. While this is true throughout the construction industry, Union specialty trades have leveraged this technology to make their membership even more skilled. My function is to take that information from real world experience and set it to a curriculum that our membership will be able to use in a practical manner.

Work with clients such as private architects, power plants, structural engineers and promotional services companies that require a multitude of design and drafting services which have included architectural and structural renovation and new building design, electrical as-built drawings of existing facilities, structural design of specialized building projects and 3D motion and rendering services ranging from new building systems, duct design, conceptual site design and product conceptual design.

This position is pinnacle of my tenure within this great organization. It means the world to me in that I am now at the helm to help facilitate success for the organization via my fellow board members, staff, volunteers, and the overall livelihood in general. This will be a challenging year as we have decided, after a year-long assessment, to expand our Boys' Choir to a youth choir that includes four separate choirs. I am looking forward to this challenge as it is going to make this organization stronger as a whole, and make its presence within the community have a larger imprint and their in turn hopefully a larger positive impact.

While still deeply involved in this great organization, my role has changed to help cultivate the positive culture, mentor others within the organization all the while building the family of MCM.

I am part of choir that sounds so tremendous collectively that I get shivers hearing it. I am on the Board of Directors among people that give selflessly their time for this great organization… And most importantly to me, I am the Chair of the Outreach and Education Committee. And I say that this is most important to me, because I have the power to pass on this gift of voice to those that follow in my footsteps of adversity and hardship. That I can enlighten people in the way that they might understand, that as long as they have a voice, they have power in their lives. That as long as they have a voice, they can mold their own destiny. That as long as they have a voice, they too will have the power to pull themselves out of the depths of despair and hardship and into the light that is song…

Responsible for designing commercial and NQA-1 rated ductwork and accessories for seismic I though IV load applications for the Vitrification Construction Project based on conceptual design performed by Bechtel National, Inc. which requires understanding of SMACNA and NQA-1 standards. Responsibilities also include materials take-off through self-created spread sheets as well as heading the employee elected Safety Committee and talking at speaking engagements representing Intermech’s safety philosophies.

Responsible for the structural design of fully enclosing the partially constructed WNP-4 General Services Building.

Responsible for the estimating, designing and project management of larger special fabrication projects such as conveyors, DOT Type 7A boxes, IP-2 containers, nuclear fuel rod pellet storage vaults, industrial HVAC and ammonia, water, nitrogen and steam piping design, and various other custom fabrication projects of size and scale.
