Prosecuted misdemeanors and felonies as part of both the Fourth Precinct and Juvenile & Domestic Relations Prosecution Teams. Served as the office liaison to the Virginia Beach Fire Marshal’s Office. Awarded Employee of the Quarter for the 4th Quarter of 2019. Received the Virginia Beach Crime Solvers Commonwealth’s Attorney Prosecutor Award for 2019.

Prosecuted misdemeanors and felonies as part of the Drug Prosecution Team and the Violent Crimes Prosecution Team. Served as the office liaison to the Newport News Fire Marshal’s Office.

Conducted court proceedings in General District Court and Circuit Court with the Violent Crimes Prosecution Team under the Virginia third-year practice rule. Participated alongside prosecutors in negotiations with defense attorneys. Drafted answers to motions for discovery. Assisted with interviews of victims, witnesses and law enforcement. Performed legal research and drafted appellate briefs.

Utilized the Virginia third-year practice rule to represent the Commonwealth in bond hearings, preliminary hearings, bench trials, sentencing hearings, and revocation hearings. Performed legal research on various topics and drafted appellate briefs. Handled misdemeanor appeals for the third precinct trial team with a weekly caseload of up to forty. Participated in a ride-along with the Virginia Beach Police Department Aviation Unit.

Created a checklist for attorneys to use in qualifying an expert witness. Assembled another checklist for the direct examination of law enforcement in DUI cases. Assisted with trial preparation in cases ranging from possession of stolen property to first degree murder. Observed interviews with victims, witnesses, and law enforcement. Participated in a ride-along with the Newport News Police Department South Precinct.

Served as a liaison between the hospital and local law enforcement. Certified by the Crisis Prevention Institute in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. Resolved disputes between staff, patients, and visitors. Responded to emergency situations including fires, combative individuals, and traumas on a regular basis.

Provided legal and administrative support in the areas of criminal law, administrative law, family law and contract law. Delivered direct and indirect support to attorneys and support staff at the Fort Bliss Legal Assistance Office which won the Chief Of Staff of the Army Award for Excellence in 2007.
