Research EngineerVt-Wfu Center For Injury Biomechanics Jun 2013 - May 2018Winston Salem, North CarolinaI was part of a team of professors, graduate students, and staff engineers that develops, validates, and presents world-class, highly detailed finite element computational human and dummy models. My primary role was to assess and improve the numerical stability, biomechanical response, and user-friendliness of our GHBMC detailed 50th percentile male human model based on user feedback and experimental data. I played a major role in regularly writing and updating quarterly reports, manuals, release notes, and update presentation materials.• Global Human Body Models Consortium (GHBMC): Human body models (HBMs), used for injury prediction in car crashes.o Improved detailed 50th percentile male model (M50-O) biofidelity response (match to cadaver biomechanical responses) in frontal, lateral, and oblique impact cases and in sled cases according to CORA (Correlation and Analysis).o Validated M50-O in frontal sled test simulation with 68% biofidelity response (CORA). Presented validation and rib fracture data at GHBMC Users Conference. Published validation and belt path sensitivity study data in Annals of Biomedical Engineering journal.o Improved M50-O numerical stabilityo Technically supported team and colleagues in development and validation of 13 HBMso Significantly improved efficiency, user-friendliness, and versatility of biofidelity response plotting code in Matlab• Warrior Injury Assessment Manikin (WIAMan) – First generation military ATD, used for injury prediction in high-acceleration vertical loading in under-body blast scenarios, i.e. IEDso Set up and performed full body and head-neck model validation and parameter study simulationso Processed and plotted simulation results and presented progress to partners• Military HuMod study: External anthropometry CAD development for Army Research Laboratories (ARL)o Assisted in development of subject data collection protocolo Ordered supplies and assembled experimental set up
