About Jeremy Sheppard

'I know of no more encouraging fact than the unquestionable ability of man to elevate his life through conscious endeavour'-Henry David ThoreauJeremy is presently the Health and Athletic Performance Lead (Integrated Support Team Lead) for Canada Snowboard's High Performance Programs, and the off-snow coach for the Slopestyle and Big Air team. This role has him accountable for the Sport Science/Medicine of the 5 Olympic snowboard disciplines, where he has curated an integrated, holocratically led support team of experiences and exposures to promote mental and physical health, performance therapies and physical preparation, mental performance and skill acquisition, nutrition/fuelling, and data analytics. Coach Sheppard has had the good fortune to have assisted and learned from helping athletes who have found success in numerous Olympic and Para-Olympic Games (2000, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2016, 2018, 2022), as well as extensive part-time work or consulting in professional sport leagues (National Rugby League, Australian Football League, National Football League). Jeremy has a PhD and Masters Degree in Sport Science, and an undergraduate degree in Human Movement. In addition he has undertaken extensive work in personal and team leadership and communication, with milestone experiences coming from Melbourne Graduate School of Business/Australian Institute of Sport and Sport Scientist Canada/Royal Roads University. Jeremy is a graduate of the Canadian National Coaching Institute, and is also certified by the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA) as a Level 3 and Master coach, and Life Member. He is certified in level 2 Olympic Weightlifting Coaching, Level 2 Hockey Coaching, Level 1 Snowboard, Gymnastics, and Volleyball Coaching, Medical Exercise, Performance Nutrition, and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), a Coach Emeritus with the NSCA. Jeremy has conducted numerous research projects with >150 peer-reviewed research manuscripts and abstracts, as well as 16 book chapters on strength and conditioning. He has presented on coaching, leading people and forming teams, and strength and conditioning in Canada, the USA, South America, UK, Europe, New Zealand, Indonesia, and Australia.
