At Brady Ware, I am mostly focused on audit and assurance engagements. My primary responsibilities have been auditing and reviewing balance sheet and income statement accounts for a varied assortment of clients, including manufacturers, EBP's, and NFP's. In addition, I also have experience preparing financial statements and supplemental statements for the above mentioned industries for audits and reviews. I am also responsible for monthly bookkeeping and financial statement preparation for a few healthcare NFP's. During my time at Brady Ware, I have become proficient in Caseware, Caseview, Thomson Reuters Creative Solutions Accounting, and CCH Prosystems, and I have also gained experience using Quickbooks.I have passed all four parts of the CPA exam, and have applied for certification.

At Plante Moran, I was able to put my education to work. During my two internships (winter & summer) I was able to see both sides of the industry by having my two experiences focused on audit and tax. During the winter, I primarily prepared 1120's and 1065's for various entities ranging from manufacturing and construction to entertainment companies, as well as 1040's for families in various tax brackets. During my summer experience, I helped perform audits and reviews as a part of an engagement team, with a primary focus on balance sheet accounts. Also, my two internship experiences allowed me to gain experience using tax and audit software; namely CCH Prosystems FX and Caseware.

Simms Chevrolet is a family business, and it allowed me to grow as an employee in multiple ways. When I first started, I was washing cars a few hours a few during the summers. By the time I left the company to pursue public accounting, I had worked two summers selling parts and service, which gave me a tremendous amount of experience in customer service and relations, as well as bookkeeping work, which allowed me to see how a company's finances work from the inside. During my time at Simms, at I had to learn multiple functions in our ERP software.
