- Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of insurance, self-insurance and risk management programs to protect the WSCC’s assets, programs, services, contracts and activities from the risk of financial loss; - Through agreements with outside investment professionals, ensure the maximum return on the Commission’s investments; - In consultation with the Actuary, provide recommendations and advice through the President to the Governance Council on rate setting, employer classification, and rate modification initiatives; - Manage the procurement and contracting services of the Commission to ensure the WSCC Purchasing Policy and Contracting procedures are followed providing a fair and consistent process;- Represent the WSCC on national and international committees to keep the WSCC consistent and current with best practices, industry standards and direction;- Member of the WSCC Job Evaluation Committee;- Management Representative on Occupational Health and Safety Committee;- WSCC Emergency Response Team member, responsible for WSCC Safety/Emergency Plan;- 4 direct unionized reports.

- Interpret Financial Acts, policies and procedures for the Board and Senior Management. Advise of problems and make recommendations for improvement;- Ensure the maximum safe return on the WCB’s investments ($328 million) by recommending appropriate Investment Strategies and policies;- Represent the WCB on national and international committees to keep the WCB consistent with best practices and industry standards and direction;- Member of WCB “Mega Project” project team;- Member of the WCB Job Evaluation Committee;- Member of Union Collective Bargaining team; - President of Union Local 28.

- Assist with the administration of 50 property leases with an annual value of $6,100,000; and the administration of 25 GNWT staff housing units with an annual operating and maintenance value of $500,000- Review and recommend approval for payment or invoicing escalation billings submitted by landlords.- Ensure accurate property levels are maintained in non-market NWT communities, including site visits to communities as required.- Supervised Property Management Administrative Assistant
