It's A God Thing (IAGT) began as a local youth ministry in Boise, Idaho in early 2004. Through the use of web-based message and chat boards, the small ministry grew to over 100 young adults nationwide, from ages 13-20. With the popularity of MySpace, an IAGT group was launched, which allowed the ministry to grow to several hundred members nationwide. At this point, IAGT t-shirts and other simple merchandise began circulating to support the ministry.After promoting IAGT through a mission trip to Mexico in the summer of 2004, Rock the Canyon in August 2004 in Twin Falls, Idaho, and several local concerts, including Light the Night - a Halloween-night, multi-band event held at the Idaho Expo building, in mid-2005, IAGT Youth became a staple at Eastwind Community Church. I and other IAGT co-founder became Jr. High Youth Leaders.As a Jr. High Youth Leader/Mentor, my responsibilities included weekly Youth events; Sunday Youth Group, Mid-Week Youth Group as well as organizing various other activities such as; Overnight Winter/Summer Camps, local concerts, traveling to Creation Festival and week-long mission trips to Baja Mexico. Other responsibilities included leading through encouragement and offering thoughts based on personal experiences.In early 2009, after about 4 years, life events forced me from my role as a youth leader. IAGT continued to exist at Eastwind for a few years. Currently, IAGT Youth Ministry is on hiatus until the day when the opportunity arises again to operate and promote the ministry in the Boise area.The time I spent as a Youth Leader at Eastwind opened my eyes to the world of issues that face our youth today.
