I cover all the arts news in the St. Louis region that's fit to hear on the radio or read about on the web. I specialize in sound-rich feature stories which I produce using Adobe Audition, but also cover breaking news of all sorts. I also host and produce the "Cut & Paste" podcast and am occasionally a substitute host for "St. Louis On The Air," our weekday live discussion program. In 2020 the Missouri Broadcasters Association awarded me First Place In Feature Reporting, Large Market Radio for "At Chase Cinema, Longtime Organist Plays A Cheerful Echo Of The Past."

Greater Boston Area

A regular freelance contributor to the newspaper and all platforms, writing reviews of theater and music and feature stories about those topics plus film, food, travel, arts news. In the past I've written some some Op-eds and unsigned editorials.In August/Sept. 2017, was also associate editor of Ideas section on interim basis.

Dorchester, Massachusetts

Worked with the lead editor and design supervisor to help sculpt the Ideas section of the Sunday Boston Globe, from assignments through editing, proofing and final design decisions. Edited freelance writers who ranged from longtime Boston Globe contributors to authors, leading academics and experts in a wide variety of fields. Also sat on the paper's editorial board and contributed to unsigned editorials. Filled in, on a temporary basis, for someone on book leave.

This was one piece of my freelance practice but a large enough chunk to merit its own entry here. As a contributor, I covered arts performance and arts news for the web and occasional on-air features, news spots and in-studio interviews. For two years I was also part of a small team of editors who edited other contributors' pieces before publishing directly to WBUR's The ARTery through the Wordpress CMS.

This was one piece of my freelance practice, but a large enough chunk to merit its own entry here. A I led the popular music coverage for this daily newspaper, covering the vibrant music scene of the Berkshires as well as Northampton and New York's Capitol Region.

Ran all publicity and marketing activities for this natural history museum in downtown Pittsfield.

Lenox, Mass.

Originally hired as Communications Associate, but during a three-year tenure converted the position to Associate Director of Publicity, at the senior-staff level.

Great Barrington, Mass.

Originally hired as Reporter/Photographer before being promoted to News Editor, leading all news coverage of a 15-town region.

I began as a freelance correspondent for Swampscott Reporter before joining the full-time staff as reporter for North Andover Citizen, and later the Swampscott Reporter and Marblehead Reporter.
