Responsible for developing and managing the organization’s external communications, earned media coverage, influencer marketing and media relations strategy. Additional responsibilities include fostering external relationships across the music industry, national and local nonprofit organizations and the broader Middle Tennessee community.

Oversee system-wide public relations and media relations efforts for PeaceHealth, a not-for-profit health system offering care to communities across Washington, Oregon and Alaska. Duties include creating and leading systemwide proactive and reactive communications strategies and coordinating teams of communications specialists based in networks of care.

Led strategic communications and marketing initiatives for PeaceHealth's Columbia network, which includes the organization's Vancouver and Longview hospitals and clinics. Duties included managing a team of communications specialists and leading proactive and reactive media relations efforts, as well as developing dynamic communications and marketing strategies in support of key service lines, employee engagement efforts and business strategies. In addition, I oversaw community relations and outreach initiatives and served as a key strategic communications partner as part of the network executive team.

Developed complex communications plans utlilized systemwide and oversaw media relations outreach for PeaceHealth system initiatives and PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, a 450-bed hospital in Vancouver. I also led the design and launch of an interactive, externally-facing news website and apps for PeaceHealth employees, serving as administrator and content editor of the site. I assisted in developing and implementing systemwide digital media and social media strategies, including reputation management best practices, guidelines and policies, and increased engagement through enhancing digital content to targeted audiences.

Executed strategic communications initiatives to promote Oregon Health & Science University's Knight Cancer Institute. I worked closely with OHSU and Knight Cancer leadership, faculty, patients and others to convey key messages to internal and external audiences. I also created and managed content for a variety of Knight Cancer Institute communications vehicles, including its newsletter and blog.

Worked with members of the local and national news media on stories promoting research, treatment and educational programs within the Children’s Hospital and the Department of Pediatrics, as well as contributed written content for Vanderbilt University Medical Center's publications and websites. Monitored news trends and regularly placed Vanderbilt-led research and initiatives, as well as faculty comments, in local, national and international news stories. Developed long-range communications plans, videos and educational materials, collaborating with colleagues from across all areas of Vanderbilt, including Development and Alumni Relations, Marketing, Creative Services, Outreach and Government Relations.

Managed the museum's media relations activities, including writing, editing and distributing press releases to publicize exhibits, public programming, fundraising events, educational initiatives and more. Cultivated relationships with local, national and international media, with consistent success pitching story ideas and placing high-profile pieces in the Wall Street Journal and New York Times. In addition, I wrote and edited content for the museum's website, including public program accounts and written material for online publications and special products. I also led a museum-wide effort to expand new media opportunities, including increasing social media presence and online audio and video components for exhibits and public programming.

Wrote and distributed press releases and coordinated media outreach activities to journalists for coverage of exhibits, events and public programming. I maintained the department's online PR software system, which helped track the museum's more than 3,500 news items per year, managed various media lists, and prepared analytics for board reports, accreditation procedures, grant proposals and other requests. In addition, I managed the department budget and coordinated filmings in museum galleries and offsite properties Hatch Show Print and RCA Studio B, which included regular network tapings and national and international feature stories and documentaries.
