I have the privilege of leading Shaper's incredible team of mechanical, electrical, software, QA, and manufacturing engineers. When our first product started to arrive in the hands of excited customers, my role continued to expand beyond just designing all the electronics for our products.

I joined Shaper with the directive to take the existing proof-of-concept prototype, and turn it into a manufacturable product. I designed all of the electronics in Shaper Origin, and many of Shaper's custom test and manufacturing fixtures and systems. As with any startup, my responsibilities were broad, including devising system architecture, doing schematic capture, laying out our PCBs, vetting manufacturers, building test systems, managing safety and EMC certifications, copywriting, managing our social media presence, designing mechanical testers, writing software, and more.

SUNN was a spin-off of my Masters thesis research from Cornell University. I co-founded SUNN and served as CTO until joining Google [x]. After leaving Sunn, I continued to serve as a technical advisor and board member.I designed and implemented novel hardware and software to enable multi-color, smart, LED light bulbs to emulate natural sunlight indoors. SUNN-enabled bulbs automatically and intelligently mimic the spectral distribution of natural sunlight in a given location at a given time. SUNN lights are energy efficient, and are based on decades of physiological research proving the impact of lighting on mood, wakefulness, and productivity.

My Research work in the Creative Machines Lab included the design of machine metabolism robots, programmable matter, and personal fabrication devices such as 3D printers.

I co-founded the PopShop - a first-of-its-kind co-working space for Cornell students. The Popshop hosted event programming, incubated dozens of startups, organized workshops and hack-a-thons, and more.As the co-founder and manager of the PopShop, I oversaw day-to-day operations, planned events, and coordinated entrepreneurial activities.

I founded and led an organization committed to increasing environmental/sustainable awareness through student design/build projects. Under my term as chief executive director from 2009 to 2012, the group grew to 250 people, completed several domestic and international design-build projects, and was recognized by countless international organizations for our design prowess and global impact. After stepping down as director, I took on a role as advisor to the new leadership, and served as a technical lead for some of CUSD's lighting research.

MakerBot is the industry leader in personal 3D printing technology. I worked as an R&D Electrical Engineer designing the electronics (and sometimes software), that enable these machines to make you anything. Specifically, I worked on the Electronics for the Replicator 3D printer, and Digitizer 3D scanner.

I taught engineering concepts to a class of 10 high-school students, with help from two TAs. Each student worked on their own project, and I provided assistance where needed, drawing upon my electrical engineering and programming knowledge. I also gave short talks on everything ranging from entrepreneurship to public speaking to transistor logic.I continue to return to BlueStamp summer programs every year to give a guest lecture.

Libe Technologies developed innovative products and services to customize the check-in process for hotels, improve event ticketing, etc. We ultimately decided to cease pursuing LibeTech as a business venture, and I made all my work on this technology available as open source hardware and software.
