I am currently a Senior Computational Biologist at Syngenta Biotechnology. I have over 10 years of experience in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biology, and Statistics. I also have 5 years’ experience in Project Management leading global projects and software development in support for research. My solid and diverse educational and corporate background provides opportunities to either lead or be part of international teams from multiple disciplines working together to make a difference and solve problems. I really enjoy interacting with many different cultures and backgrounds. In the past decade, I have worked to diligently to improve and focus on three key areas of personal growth. These areas are enhancing my knowledge and understanding on being a professional, learning more about bioinformatics, systems biology, and high performance computing environments, and creating and implementing solutions for novel ideas. Highlights of my career thus far are:• Project Management Professional (PMP). • Leading global teams spanning research and development.• Interacting with many different cultures and professional backgrounds• Business analyst and process modeling within a matrix organization.• Develop and optimize new and existing software and applications for data mining ‘omics and phenotypic data. • Design, implement, optimize, and troubleshoot infrastructure for research.• Global data manager for all bioinformatics data• Lead and provide advice on ways of working for colleagues who leverage the HPC and grid computing environments.• Design and implement data organization and active management of it.• Create applications for data integration• IT policies, best practices and procedures including data security and integrity
