I'm a coastal geomorphologist working in wetland restoration and climate change adaptation on the Pacific West Coast, mainly in San Francisco Bay and the Lower Columbia River.I've been lucky enough to have been given many great opportunities to use my geomorphological training in various places around the world. I've worked on the design of sea defenses to reduce flood hazards in Venice, Italy; coastal erosion protection for Hong Kong airport; and contributed to tidal wetland design guidelines for San Francisco Bay, Puget Sound and the Lower Columbia Estuary. I've been involved in wetland restoration projects such as the USACE Shoreline Study in San Francisco Bay and Ballona Wetlands in Los Angeles.Now my work is mainly focused on sea level rise and climate change adaptation on the Pacific West Coast including vulnerability assessment, adaptation strategies and green infrastructure using my knowledge of natural ecosystem processes to help develop resilient shorelines.Specialties: Coastal and estuarine geomorphology, Shoreline management, Climate change adaptation
