Advocates and promotes the Kidney Foundation of Western New York's mission in the community. Oversees day-to-day operation of the foundation. Provides guidance and leadership to establish Unyts as the premier non-profit and community engagement organization in Western New York. Manages participation in grant-funded projects and partnerships with community organizations. Acts as a liaison between Unyts and the communities it serves. Provides support in the creation of content and materials for outreach, education, development and other strategic goals.

Unyts is Western New York's only organ, eye, tissue and community blood center. As manager of community engagement, I lead in the development, execution and management of a variety of engagement opportunities, including: community outreach/educational programming, non-profit collaboration, multi-cultural/multi-faith efforts, and volunteer services.

-- Developed strategies for expanding the circulation and readership of five community newspapers.-- Worked with editors to pursue effective social media strategies for the East Aurora Advertiser and Warsaw’s Country Courier.-- Implemented policies and systems to ensure high quality news coverage and improve efficiency across all publications.

-- Served as acting editor for Warsaw's Country Courier from April through September 2011, while maintaining editorial duties at the Advertiser and Review.-- Interviewed and hired a new editor and reporter at Warsaw's Country Courier.-- Worked with editors of the Arcade Herald, Franklinville Mercury-Gazette, Ellicottville Mountain and Valley News, and Warsaw's Country Courier on strategies to improve coverage and expand circulation.

As news editor (2006), editor (2008), managing editor (2010-2013):-- Expanded coverage and improved quality of the East Aurora Advertiser and Elma Review, weekly community newspapers with a combined circulation of 4,400.-- Reported directly on news and events through print articles, web posts, photographs, slideshows, videos and audio podcasts.-- Led a team including freelance writers, a staff reporter, copy editor, and layout/production staff in the creation of each week's edition, as well as planning and development of multi-week projects.-- Improved the organization’s Internet presence by expanding use of eastaurorany.com for the posting of news, taking part in a redesign of the website, and building a following for the Advertiser on Facebook. -- Dealt directly with government and school officials, business owners, and members of the public for news interviews and as a representative of the newspapers.
