Since a child – I have been in love with the romance of the hotel industry. Having both parents travel with work, I was fortunate to experience a life of travel from a fairly young age – and have very fond memories of experiences in luxury hotels at the time – from the excitement of opening your room for the first time after arriving to a hotel to the smell of freshly baked bread emanating from the hotel restaurant in the morning.Since starting my career as a porter in one of Sydney’s much loved 5 star hotels – I have had the pleasure of working in 3 countries, 3 capital cities, 2 regional centres and 2 island resorts to build a strong experience base in hotel operations for the first half of my career, then diversifying into business development and revenue management, and now have now achieved by dream of being a General Manager. During this time I have also completed professional qualifications such as a Diploma & Bachelor of Business in Hotel Management, as well as job specific industry qualifications with both Hilton and Accor hotels.My long term goal is to continue developing my skills and career so that I can further contribute to the hotel and hospitality industry as a leader – with a view to pass on my passion of the romance of hospitality to both our guests and future generations.
