My vocation is finance. My background is real estate development. My passions are geopolitics and international commerce. My nerd obsession is financial modeling.These interests intersected early in my career when I embarked on a four-year adventure in Latin America. I was hired by a US-based real estate investment partnership to take over management of $150 million in development projects. In a short period of time and with limited resources, I had to overcome cultural, political, and economic barriers to solve problems in quality control, supply chain, security, labor relations, and marketing. I made a strategic plan and executed.I transitioned to finance upon returning to the United States, finding a home in the EB-5 industry after a time in mortgage banking. I joined a top-tier investment fund manager and service provider, and during six years with the firm I rose from associate to senior director in charge of the consulting and regional center affiliation divisions.Now, as an independent consultant, my expertise enables clients to raise capital under the EB-5 program to finance development projects, business expansions, and new ventures.I earned a bachelor's degree in Management from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a post-baccalaureate certificate in Finance from the University of California at San Diego.My professional memberships include the American Economic Association, the Investment Migration Council, the National Association for Business Economics, and the Urban Land Institute. I serve on the Best Practices Committee of IIUSA, the trade association for the EB-5 industry.
