As a People Scientist at Capital One, Jeremy brings expertise in industrial-organizational psychology and analysis to help clients frame problems, answer questions, and design solutions to improve the associate experience. Jeremy’s educational background is a master’s degree in industrial-organizational psychology with a strong focus on research and scientific rigor.Previously, Jeremy supported the design and ongoing analytics associated with the Virtual Job Tryout® at Modern Hire, an assessment that delivers a candidate-centric experience that informs, engages, and educates. This support included job analysis, content development, and assessment validation, as well as conducting assessment calibrations and turnover studies to ensure assessments remain valid and fair. Jeremy had the privilege to partner with great clients across many different industries (e.g., Walmart, Amazon, Bank of America, Spectrum), all with unique hiring needs and challenges. At Modern Hire, Jeremy partnered with two organizations (SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment and Spectrum) on initiatives that went on to win the 2021-2022 and the 2022-2023 HRM Impact Award presented by SIOP and SHRM.Prior to his work in personnel selection, Jeremy provided psychometric support for the design, analysis, and interpretation of employee opinion surveys, training evaluation programs, and a regional organizational awards program at an HR consulting company. Additionally, Jeremy has taught industrial-organizational psychology at multiple universities while working as a professional. Jeremy also spent two years as a mental health case manager in two different counties in Ohio, working directly with clients who had severe mental illness. Jeremy assisted these clients with living and thriving in the community by creating treatment plans and providing coaching on their objectives and goals.
