I believe that children are our future. As a teacher and coach I will have the opportunity to help kids develop the skills and gain the confidence necessary to be successful at whatever they choose to do with their lives. Helping kids is my way of making a change in the world. As a teacher and a coach I will be able to teach my students and athletes the importance of working together in groups and teams. Learning how to communicate properly and work together with one another is a skill set that every one of them will use in their future careers. I will have the opportunity to simulate what they will experience in the job field and help them be prepared for when they graduate and go out into the real world. As a student athlete in my school years, I was greatly influenced by both teachers and coaches. One of the greatest lessons I learned from them was how to overcome adversity and hardships. They taught me how to endure and persevere through tough times. Whether it was giving me challenging assignments in the classroom or a tough day at practice, they taught me how to be both mentally and physically resilient. My teachers and coaches made me the man that I am today. I want to have that same influence on the students I teach and the athletes I coach.
