OUR STORYThe birth of Visual Mass was inspired by a common conundrum - a lack of modern and stylish quality eyewear that is also affordable.It is no secret that large corporations dominate the eyewear industry, inflating prices and reaping huge profits from consumers and depriving them of options. Also accounting for the involvement of numerous middlemen, external designers, suppliers, distributors, and marketers who add layers upon layers of commission to the final cost, it is no wonder that consumers’ wallets are left high and dry.Visual Mass was founded to rebel against this very system; change was to be effected by Singapore’s very first proprietary eyewear label.After all, why would we want to mark up something that we believe is your basic right?Visual Mass found its humble beginnings in 2013. We started by plying our wares and pitching our brand ethos at flea markets, launching our web store and even setting up clandestine pop-up shops at cafes when our customers started requesting for fittings. The response we’ve received in the last 3 years has been immensely encouraging. Owing to the support of our customers, we grew by leaps and bounds, eventually opening our second store at Orchard Gateway in under 3 years.‘ONE FOR YOU, ONE FOR THEM’ INITIATIVEWe want our brand to matter and to create value for both our customers and the greater community. We do that by paying it forward.By creating affordable, well-designed glasses, we can achieve healthy demand. This in turn allows us to supply glasses to the underprivileged via our One for You, One for Them initiative which is propelled by two simple goals.1) To provide sight for everyone.2) To build a business that can give back to the community.Through this initiative, Visual Mass is actively working to partner non-profit organisations to ensure that for every pair of glasses sold, a pair is distributed to someone in need.
