Transitioned to a management role, defining and growing a medium size team owning 4 different internal products.

Led a small platforms team that maintained and added features to a Rust based RTOS solution used in many places across the satellite vehicle. Worked with multiple teams, with diverse backgrounds, to deliver on a roadmap under an incredibly tight deadline. Pioneered a flexible method for controlling stepper motors when given vague requirements. Worked with an applied scientist to implement mathematical solutions for a set of motion planning algorithms.

Delivered a successful product refresh which addressed previous performance issues around battery life, cell connectivity, and GPS. Monitored firmware deployment with self authored Spark SQL scripts, and worked with data visualization team to ensure customer satisfaction. Assisted the EE team with board bringup and factory bringup for a new product. Maintained backend data pipeline to compliment FW features.

Architected and implemented a scalable industrial control solution for solar trackers. Developed firmware for rugged and high reliability embedded systems. Designed and coded a bare-metal bootloader for an ARM Cortex M0 with signature checking. Using cloud computing tools implemented a data backend/visualization tool for gathering and analyzing customer data. Working directly with the CEO, managed a small systems team that delivered a market viable solution ahead of schedule. Foundational efforts helped create an amazing team and successful commercialization of an industry disrupting product.

Regularly authored and deployed code for hundreds of thousands of devices. Created production test firmware and test equipment using the Raspberry Pi. Deployed the test equipment in 3 factories in 3 different countries including China. Optimized accelerometer drivers for extremely low power consumption. Helped create clean abstraction for sharing code across many projects.

Formally Omron Network Products.Designed embedded systems and brought up new hardware for product release. Provided input for design, authored microcontroller and FPGA code, and debugged functionality of digital systems and circuitry. Took legacy and prototype code, and prepared it for production environments.

Simulated and debugged DRAM circuitry and process changes on production or near production parts. Developed and maintained memory test patterns, analyzed electrical failures on high volume and experimental products. Improved yield and overall cost reduction while working with other departments.

Assisted in development of a magnetically coupled resonator for wireless power transfer. Wrote a simple search algorithm for optimizing the receivers impedance to maximize energy transfer. Worked on development of the next generation WISP. The WISP is an RFID wireless sensing platform that utilizes ultra low power design. Assisted with a CPLD solution resulting in an order of magnitude less power and nearly a doubling of range.
