My role is to implement individualized programs for children and young adults based on ABA principles to increase communication, self-help, social and play skills. Also to utilize positive reinforcement and antecedent modification to increase appropriate behaviors over time. I am the lead teacher in a 3-5th grade self-contained classroom. I also manage inappropriate behaviors that occur. All of this is done through the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and consultation with our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). I facilitate interactions with peers, coworkers, and families, keep the children motivated to learn through preference assessments. I have in-depth training and experience in intensive toilet training. I also have experience with early intervention, training other therapist and crisis prevention/management.
