Moura Accounting is a US-based startup providing "Finance as a Service" (FaaS), including CFO, Accounting, Bookkeeping, Tax, BPO, and FP&A services to small businesses across the US. As the Head of Finance & Accounting, I lead the FP&A (Finance) and Client Accounting Services (Accounting) teams, delivering high-quality services to clients while managing all financial operations.Key responsibilities include:1. Leadership and Management: Directing the FP&A and Accounting teams to ensure timely, accurate service delivery, including managing Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), and financial reporting processes.2. Client Support: Acting as the primary point of contact for client financial queries, offering expert guidance and ensuring superior client satisfaction in all financial and accounting matters.3. Client Deliverables: Reviewing and approving key deliverables such as weekly and monthly financial reports, and financial statements.3. Process Design & Implementation: Leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of internal processes and controls for both Finance and Accounting teams.4. Reporting to COO: Collaborating with the Chief Operating Officer on financial strategy, budgeting, and key performance indicators.5. Training and Staffing: Responsible for the recruitment, training, and development of the Finance and Accounting teams to meet client needs and support company growth.

• Manage a team of 90-100 staff• Plans and prepares specific tasks, contingency plans and work schedules of employees ensuring coverage in key tasks of the team.• Improve processes and procedures and initiate corrective actions• Conducts reviews with business stakeholders to discuss performance, problematic accounts, and to discuss/resolve outstanding issues related to each revenue streams• Facilitates month-end activities and ensures accurate and timely submission of reports.• Assigned as the lead in AR Oracle to SAP transformation (includes testing, system review and key user training)

• Manage a team of 10-11 accountants• Review and Monitor and analyze accounting data • Reviews forecast and budget consolidation• Improve processes and procedures and initiate corrective actions• Staff management duties such as interviewing, hiring, planning and directing• Provide financial information to business unit heads as requested or required to satisfy corporate financing reporting commitments such as profitability analysis, break even point analysis

• Manage and supervise a team of 6-7 accountants• Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy • Prepares and analyzes monthly financial statements and other reports required by management• Manage the production of the annual budget and prepares actual vs budget variance analysis• Handles and/or monitor month end closing activities (payable, receivable, and general ledger)• Work with auditors on the annual audit and preparation of related tax returns.• Ensures correct internal control policies are in place and are being implemented• Monitor cash flow and ensure proper cash levels• Directly involved in any tax cases/disputes issued, which includes reconciliation of tax issues, answering audit queries and preparing/reviewing answer to assessments.
