The purpose of this position is to provide programmatic coordination and administrative support for short-term workforce training activities to staff, students, partners, and other stakeholders; Duties include but are not limited to working directly and collaboratively with Program Leaders, instructors, students, and other staff to accomplish goals. o Coordinates and supports programmatic outreach leading to workforce training program enrollment and student engagement Coordinate Engages with the public and others as needed to recruit and retain training participantso Oversees and manages student related administrative and recordkeeping functions for assigned programs o Ensures compliance with NCCER and other credentialing requirementso Coordinates the department’s efforts to become a NCCER Accredited Training Sponsor & Assessment Centero Assists with planning, preparation and coordination of revenue-generating programs and services that contribute to the sustainability of the Workforce Development division o Supports the engagement of students, in the recruitment, testing, placement and culmination of Workforce training programs o Assists in the search and placement processes designed to match employers and students/completers with available jobs including ongoing placement tracking after program completiono Engages with SVHEC staff and stakeholders to promote, increase awareness and growth of workforce training programs o Performs multi-faceted, complex and comprehensive administrative functions required for program delivery, compliance and recordkeeping including document creation, recordkeeping, data collection and data managementOther duties and tasks as assigned

The Administrative and Program Assistant position provides direct support and administrative assistance for multiple not-for-credit short-term workforce training programs, specifically the SoVA CME Program Coordinator, SoVA CME Program Leaders, and the IT Academy Program Coordinator. The primary programmatic areas assisted include SoVA CME (Mechatronics/Automation levels 1,2, & 3 and Welding@SVHEC, HVAC@SVHEC) and IT Academy training programs (training programs leading to CompTIA A+, Server+, Network+ credentials).SoVA Center for Manufacturing Excellence (SoVA CME) functions as a workforce training unit of the Workforce Development division and serves as a hub able to provide foundational, basic level, and advanced and specialty level training in welding, precision machining, and industrial maintenance/mechatronics leading to certification/credential and employment in the specialized field. The three areas of focus for the SoVA CME are: 1) Employer/Business Needs; 2) Worker Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s); and 3) Data driven responses to area employers, workers, and job seekers.
