I am a scholar of sustainability governance and environmental law and policy, which I have applied to a broad range of issue-areas, including biodiversity, 'blue economy' or marine sciences, climate change, plastics pollution, fisheries. I am capable of working across disciplines and at the science-policy interface, attracting external funding, engaging stakeholders other than academics, and have demonstrated societal relevance of my work.At Science and Research Centre Koper, I am developing the Mediterranean Institute for Environmental Studies into a modern sustainability institute that builds on a trans-disciplinary knowledge production to support societies in adaptation to environmental change and sustainability transformation. In this role, I am a reliable, creative and impact-oriented partner. Previously, I was at the Euro-Mediterranean University (2016-2022) where I developed multiple cooperation and capacity building projects, study programmes and strategic partnerships, and set up a research hub on sustainable blue economy in the Mediterranean.
