Izoteh provides technology for production of mineral wool (insulation). Izoteh's clients range from small businesses to industry leaders. In my role, I was providing support in terms of technology and chemistry to clients as well as sales and design teams.My achievements were: • Collected information on the chemical composition of 1000+ raw materials and 800+ stone-wool samples, and after data analysis created a tool to advise on batch recipes. The resulting acceleration of batch formulation brought 3× improvement for a successful batch recipe. • Analyzed signals from the production line to develop a 10% more accurate control algorithm which led to five-digit annual savings.. • Led operator training on 3 projects and have in total trained over 80 line operators. • Collaborated on the preparation of instruction manuals on 4 projects. • Worked on a protective ceramic coating that extends the part lifetime for 100% to arrive at successfully completed patent application (WO2018111198A1).Skills: Control Algorithms, Commissioning, Data Analysis, Emission and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Process Modelling, Process Optimization, Risk Assessment, SCADA.

Electronic Ceramics Department (K5) is active in the research, development and education of materials for electronics. I was a PhD candidate and I was researching the possibility of lead-free Potassium Sodium Niobate (KNN) as thick films. Contributions: • Collected material data to explain the effectiveness of KNN thick films and published a journal article. • Performed synthesis and material analyses which led: to one published journal article as the first author; 5 journal articles as co-author, and one report for an industry partner. • Standardized ceramic processing to achieve 60% shorter and 40% more repeatable synthesis.Skills: Ceramics, Crystallography, Data Analysis, Electron Microscopy, Formulation Chemistry, Glasses, Literature Search, Material Science, Piezoelectric Materials, Research, Rheology, Scientific Writing, Spectroscopy, Synthesis, Thermal Analysis, X-Ray Diffraction.

Primorje d.d. was one of three major construction companies in Slovenia. During the internship, I was working in Quality control to get hands-on experience on analysis of concrete and asphalt. In particular, I analyzed of the effect that commercial superplasticizers have on the quality of concrete.
