My true passion is helping others who might normally not attend college navigate the maze of higher education. I assist students in identifying scholarship opportunities to continue their education evidenced by my partnership with Arkansas Workforce securing nearly $100k in scholarships for students in less than 6 months. Additionally, I assist students with locating various community resources to start savings accounts, assistance with food, rent, utilities, clothing and shelter. The ultimate goal is to empower individuals with a skill set that will lead to increased earning potential and a greater quality of life. I am a dedicated professional in the field of higher education and have been an fierce advocate for marginalized students. Throughout my 10 years of experience in the field of education, I have also actively pursued greater cultural understanding between students and educators of different backgrounds. I have experienced virtually every facet of education based, grant-funded programs such as Upward Bound and Career Pathways all the way from a participant, mentor, instructor, and alumni coordinator all the way up to director.Team efforts have led to multiple scholarships, awards, degrees, and a retention rate 16% higher than non Career Pathways participants at NorthWest Arkansas Community College.
