  As a Booking Officer, our tasks are:1. Liaise with consultants and their teams to ensure patients receive timely and appropriate appointments according to their care pathway, national and local targets and the Trust Patient Access Policy.2. Be the first point of contact for patients and service users providing an in-depth knowledge of outpatient scheduling procedures for their specialty.3. Responsible for the booking, coordination and handling of theatre cases and all associated appointments according to clinical urgency and length of wait and in accordance with national and local targets, departmental procedures and Trust Policies.4. To work flexibly as part of the Team in maintaining efficient systems and processes relating to day cases and inpatient admissions, including maintaining accurate records on Trust IT systems.5. Identify potential capacity issues and short notice cancellations and attempt to resolve where possible or escalate in accordance with given processes. 6. Develop effective working relationships with all staff groups to ensure that the elective admissions team achieves optimum results.7. To organize pre-assessment for all appropriate patients, then ensure that all waiting list requests are added to the waiting list and calculating the RTT breach date and any patient pauses as well as the RTT on-goings in own specialty be validated on a weekly basis.8. Handle hospital records thru the use of Healthcare Software such as TrakCare, Galaxy and Microsoft Programs.
