I have over 14 years experience working with data in many roles (as a data scientist, modeller, analyst and research scientist) and in a range of organisations and sectors. While I have extensive technical experience working with a great variety of software tools for data analysis, manipulation and reporting (particularly open source tools such as R and Python), I take particular pride in my skills helping stakeholders identify project needs, regardless of technical implementation, and supporting the building of sustainable in-house data capability in organisations. I am passionate about effective use and maintenance of data, particularly in the areas of version control and reproducibility of analytical pipelines, whilst always taking a pragmatic approach in the delivery of cost-effective yet thorough analytical products and services.I have a particular interest in applying my skills in the context of international development, and statistics for the public good: supporting analysts and data scientists in a range of countries to produce high-quality and value-add analyses and statistics to help deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals. In doing so, I actively work with colleagues from national statistics offices in a range of countries in Africa and the Middle East.
