I make real-life games in which you create those stories and live those adventures. Harnessing 8 years of game design and entrepreneurial experience from two award-winning videogames, two of the most successful real-life games of the Benelux and countless adventures I organized for my friends, I’m one of the first Game Designers to bring immersive games to real life. Ever since I started trekking around the world, I formed a deep desire to create experiences that make you feel alive. My curiosity takes me to unexpected places providing me with inspiration and new perspectives. With the memory of an elephant, a vivid & endless imagination and a brain that’s lightning fast at finding connections between experiences, I have great ideas and even better solutions.I once spend a whole day walking around with a gas mask to simulate how it feels to be an astronaut for a space project. Comprehensive research on the theme & subject within the time window helps making intelligent decisions. Creating a believable world matters if you want your players to hide under a bed for 20 minutes out of free will and still say they had the best time of their lives!I’m on a mission to create tense & thrilling games that will become the next highlight of your life to be printed in your memory to relish and provide you with long-lasting happiness!

My main job was to help create 'the next escape room' for real-life experiences. Translating game design techniques I learned from making videogames to real-life games lead to innovations for the real-life gaming industry. For these games I served as a creative director and game designer, prototyping game mechanics, fleshing them out into full gameplay loops followed by extensive research before building out the theme, world, gameflow, level design and narrative. I helped from pitching projects to bringing everything together into one concept which we completely build and test on location.

    Tasks: Game structure, game mechanics, gameplay design, level design, tutorial, playtesting, PR, guerrilla marketing, pitching.Responsible for pivoting the feature rich Planetoid Pioneers into an exploration physics-based puzzle game, creating a metroidvania-lite structure and levels for it, playtesting regularly to bring in more focus and deciding what mechanics are taught to the player in which way. Translating the vision of the director into workable design goals and boundaries for the team to develop in.     Tasks: Game design, creative direction & concept, level design, worldbuilding, playtesting, PR, marketing, pitching, public speaking, business.I was one of the three founding members of the team and company. I was responsible for the concept of The Flock from start to finish; creating one of the first horror multiplayer games that worked, designing its mechanics, the gameplay, half of its levels, the whole world and story of the game and serving as a creative director for its audiovisual presentation, design and the overall game experience. I setup hundreds of playtests, ensuring the game was aligned to its design goals on a weekly basis. During the first year I led the small team as a project manager, before the team expanded and I turned the responsibility over to someone else. More importantly I was responsible for getting the game featured over a thousand times; getting coverage at big influencers and on all important game-related outlets writing and emailing press releases. I learned how to pitch, talk in public and build anticipation. Together with another team member we got the game approved for all important platforms and brought in prestige investments and sponsorships from world-class developers and brands.
