Currently, I am an Apple Professional Learning Specialist serving the Norfolk, VA area where I support a higher education institution's 1:1 Apple technology initiative designed to drive digital teaching, learning, and productivity through professional learning opportunities for faculty, staff, and students.I formerly served as the Instructional Technology Consultant for the UNCG Moss Street Partnership School. There, I was responsible for the general education technology needs including professional development of practice and pedagogy of ed tech. I was also responsible for device management through Apple School Manager and JAMF School. As a school immersed in a 1:1 Apple environment, I sought to leverage the tools associated with Apple to grow teacher knowledge and student achievement. Prior to my role at UNCG, I served as an Education Technology Specialist with Kennesaw State University's iTeach department where I was involved with modeling, co-planning, and co-teaching best practices for technology integration. With Guilford County Schools, I served as a Personalized Learning Coordinator, which was essentially a combination of an instructional facilitator/coach and technology integration specialist. In this position, I led professional development for full staff and small groups and assisted teachers and administrators with technology integration and best teaching practices. I was also responsible for maintaining a fleet of laptop devices and their overall functionality. Prior to serving at the district level, I was a school-based Curriculum Facilitator for a middle school focused on English Language Arts and Social Studies. My career began as a classroom teacher with experience in grades 5-8. My classroom teaching experience ranges from middle grades English Language Arts (licensed grades 6-9) and social studies, elementary math, science and reading (licensed grades K-6) and middle grades reading (licensed grades K-12).My passion for education and all students' success drives my desire to be a life-long learner. I've had the pleasure of serving in a variety of positions and continuing my educational journey by pursuing my doctorate in Instructional Design and Technology at Old Dominion University.
