Jerome is a Senior Director in the Assurance Practice – Market Group 7 of SGV & Co. / Ernst & Young Philippines. He is part of SGV’s accounting standards group specializing on business combinations and other group accounts topics. He actively facilitates various SGV trainings, including technical IFRS topics on group accounts and new staff programs. He joined the firm in December 2012 shortly after passing the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) board exam. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accountancy at Polytechnic University of the Philippines. He earned the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation in 2015 and was conferred the CIA William Smith Award in 2016. He also passed the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) exam in 2015. He has over 9 years of in-depth experience in external audits of Companies engaged in the industry of mining, logistics, construction, professional services, manufacturing, hotel, banking, holdings and technology in compliance with financial reporting frameworks that include full Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRSs) and PFRS for Small and Medium-sized Entities (SMEs). His experience also encompasses business process reviews that addressed control gaps and formed part of a Sarbanes-Oxley compliance exercise.
