Develop test planning and analysis for new product applications; coordinate all test activities from prototype testing to production implementation. Supervise engineering technicians for prototype transfer case builds and retro-fitting in test vehicles. Cost reduction test validation and DFMEA development. Prototype procurement of new design specifications for new test fixtures.• Completed prototype development and validation testing of Ford, GM, Ford Australia, Tata Automotive-India, Borg Warner Beijing-China and Chrysler 4WD / AWD products: • Dynamometer, shift stand, fatigue / ultimate strength transfer case assemblies / internal components, housings, gears, bearings, shift components, seals and shafts. • Interacted with Design Release engineers on a daily basis to release products in production after I successfully validated the products. • Design Release revision levels on validated components after production release such as housings, gears, bearings, shift components, oil pumps, shafts and seals.• Selected and managed most cost effective vendor during busy periods of in house testing, for prototype and production testing, end of test analysis and report, and implemented product improvement recommendations.• Reduced warranty claims 20% by completing failure analysis and identifying / resolving root cause.• Ensured QS9000 adherence by initiating and maintaining excellent customer communications.• Created and implemented new process that identified / eliminated product redundancies and reduced test fixture costs.• Interfaced with customer, vendor and prototype manufacturer and supported customers and vendors in adapting existing transfer case assemblies to new vehicle applications. • Mentored and trained summer interns, co-ops, and new hires.
