Travel Shopping & Reservation is an engineering organisation which delivers core functionalities of the Amadeus portfolio. It extensively covers Search, Shopping, Pricing features for both travel agencies and airlines. It also combines all Reservation features (the hearth of Amadeus system) for airlines and travel agencies as well.This group of roughly 1500 people is spread over 6 main countries (France, India, Turkey, USA, Colombia and Australia).

Sophia Antipolis - France

R&D Director of the core reservation system of the Amadeus GDS including PNR, Content management, Travel Documents, API and External Feeds. On top of this, the R&D entity managed the IT solutions for Amadeus partners and also includes Mid & Back Office products and services. In this position, I was reporting to an Amadeus Senior Vice-President.The group involved about 300 people worldwide over 8 different locations in Europe, US and India.As Head of Development, I was leading the products/projects development and maintenance, the strategy around products positioning, new projects, architecture design and excellence in software stability. Portfolio expansion was also a key activity with support to pre-sales activities, customer visits and close relationships with Amadeus local commercial organizations.

Antwerp - Belgium

In charge of the worldwide Mid & Back Office Development for Amadeus solutions. It encompassed 6 different locations in Europe, US and India.The group involved around 220 people including Quality Specialists, Business Analysts/Product Definitions, Software developers, Project & Program managers.As Head of Development, I was in charge the products/projects development and maintenance, strategy around products positioning, new projects, architecture design and excellence in software stability. Portfolio expansion was also a key activity with customer visits and close relationships with Amadeus local commercial organizations.In this position, I was reporting to an Amadeus Vice-President.

Sophia Antipolis

Head of the R&D entity in charge of Search, Shopping and Pricing which includes all solutions and products for both Airlines and Travel Agencies (TMC, Online and retail). Major challenges are related to innovations on product features and response times, technical excellence and stability. It includes some major initiatives such as artificial intelligence or cloud migration. In this position, my direct supervisor (Amadeus CTO) is part of the Amadeus Executive Committee.The team (500+) is located over 3 different sites (France, USA and India) to support worldwide customers. This group includes multiple profiles: software developers, business analysts, quality engineers, SREs, DevOps and data scientists.

2008 to 2012: In charge of a development department in the Reservation area. A group of 75 people spread over 7 teams and working on challenging and innovative projects, implying multiple patents. This activity encompasses as well Mid and Back Office projects on top of Airline IT and Distribution products.2006 to 2008: In charge of Ticketing products and projects, managing 6 teams with a total of 58 people working under my responsability.

I was in charge of two middleware solutions needed within the Amadeus architecture.The implementation of the Amadeus ESB including the services portal and the application server. These technical solutions have to cope with very high availability, reliability and scalability.The team was made of 15 people.

Intalio Inc was a startup based in the San Francisco bay area aiming to create a new solution for business-to- business processes. This company created the concept of Business Process Management Platform. I was in charge of a development team (US and Australia) developing on multiple projects. This was encompassing a CORBA Open-Source solution and as well some connectors used in the scope of the Intalio BPMS that we deployed in Sun Microsystems and Apple products.
