At SAP's Innovation Office of Global Cloud Services, I'm conducting cutting-edge research on networks and energy efficiency. This research explores innovative approaches to improve network monitoring as well as sustainable networking, contributing to the advancement of the field:- Architecting and supervising the further development of the discrete-event simulator initially developed during my master's studies- Supervising and mentoring a colleague, providing guidance and technical expertise to enhance the simulator's capabilities- Utilizing Python for research concept implementation and comparative evaluation of different approaches to network optimization- Actively participating in agile team rituals and regularly presented my newest research advancements- Leading a project on gathering and analyzing host energy data from various sources, involving merging of different databases, data cleaning, and analysis, which provided valuable insights for the modeling energy consumption within data centers

My Master's studies, in collaboration with SAP, enabled me further to apply theories and knowledge from university directly at work. During my Master's studies, I worked in two different positions.As Executive Assistant to the Head of Database:- Prepared and hosted meetings with the leadership team and key stakeholders across board areas- Supported strategic projects, project management processes and internal communication achieving a holistic and strategic view on large development organizationsAs Developer for Cloud Optimization:- Took responsibility for a discrete-event simulator to test configurations of a workload balancing algorithm for SAP data centers- Designed and implemented the simulator with Python including unit tests and continuously exchanging with stakeholders- Designed and implemented a SQLite database to store simulator run in-/outputs and evaluate the results with complex SQL statements- Evaluated the effectiveness of various configurations and VM forecasting models, contributing to my master's thesis- Collaborated effectively within an Agile development team

My vocational training at SAP, integrated with my bachelor studies, provided a unique combination of academic knowledge and real-world experience. The program involved alternating 3-4 month periods of university coursework and practical application different departments at SAP:- Acquired extensive hands-on experience in software development methodologies by working on applied projects involving the design and development of user interfaces, data analysis, and machine learning- Gained experience in bridging the gap between business and IT, communicating technical details to non-experts, and developing strong analytical and problem-solving skills- Led a software project for the design and development of a dashboard for the control of e-car charging processes including continuous consultation with internal customers/users- Supported Gerd Oswald, a member of the supervisory board with his teaching duties at TUM: updating presentation content based on the SAP strategy and liaising with upper management- Utilized data analysis skills to build forecasting models for electric vehicle charging behavior at SAP to support an intelligent management system- Acquired proficiency in programming languages like JavaScript (SAPUI5 framework) for UI development, Python for Machine Learning, and R/SQL for data analysis
