• To write and edit news and to ensure the timely airing of news as per RK policy.• In-charge of all news production, from staff journalist and reporters, hence coordinating their work as pertainsto RK's Daily News.• Answerable to the Productions Officer on all matters pertaining News and is responsible for the ethical conductof journalists and reporters as pertains news.• Writes a news desk report every two weeks and that report is submitted to the PO, copied to the Director andthe Deputy Director• To monitor the Radio as much as possible• Work closely with producers in conducting evaluation meetings at least once every two weeks and to produceprogress reports to the Director.• Report News Desk related issues in weekly management meetings• A member of the marketing team.• To be on the look on the latest news developments by attending events, studying different papers, opinionpieces, and social media.• Ensuring proper editing of News Texts are properly proof-read before sending them for casting.• A responsible for verifying statements of facts from fake news.• Staying up to date with privacy, contempt, and defamation law• Liaising with sub-editors, IT designers and photographers.
